Untitled Mumblings

This picture was actually taken before an epic moment. And I just came to know about it this evening. Being loyal to my foodie instincts I was attending a food festival with my mom. A leading diamond jewelry brand had also taken a stall near by. And two of their guys came after us and started insisting, ‘Mam mam please fill up the form its a lucky draw. Winner will get a diamond pendent free!!‘ We generally never fill up such forms….pre decided winners. But they kept on insisting and one of their managers also came forward and kept telling us about this lucky draw.

I finally filled up the form. Received a call in the evening saying I’ve won a diamond pendent!! 😉 Finally my love for food paid off this way :p :p I’ll go to collect it on Monday from their showroom, don’t think its gonna be too big but no matter how small diamonds are, free diamonds are even more valuable than the Kohinoor lol :p

My last post was also about free food packets and facewash from our college…..but this time it was just of a different level lol 😉 Seems like god of free stuffs showering his blessings on me ?? _/\_ _/\_

Soooooo that was how January ended with a bang!! Enjoying the winter guys??

The long walks beneath the cold grey sky, dim lights illuminating the farthest corners and ashen trees bared of all leaves lining up the path making everything feel so pleasant and soothing!!
Such a beautiful and mystical feeling!!  ♥♥

I love it so much!! Too bad we only get 3 months of winter here. Anyways winter days are incomplete without a hot mug of streaming liquid and I did a bit of experimentation with my drink, well I not so proudly present to you ‘Chafee’!! Never heard of it??

Chai(tea) + coffee.

The unique thing is you can very distinctly taste both the flavours. And finished the whole mug though 😉

I guess its a bit late to say this now,

Wishing all of you a very happy and successful year ahead!!And thank you for giving me such a wonderful 2015!! But Chinese New Year coming up sooooo maybe not that late!!

I was thinking for a long time what to post next. Its been such a long time and I was missing all of you so much!!

Did a lot of shopping & some very awesome back to back parties since Christmas.
I can go on and on about them but dunno how fun they are gonna be to read about 😉

This year I am actually trying to workout some resolutions.
Like go to sleep early & wake up early.
Workout at proper time and not at 2am.
And also eat only eww eww healthy food.

The best and worst thing that can happen to you is you find new places to eat. And I just discovered 2. A fabulous multi cuisine buffet. And an indo-chinese food center for home delivery. So its not gonna be easy!! But then I’m reconsidering this resolution given how nice things I’m winning for my foodie habits :p :p

So as I said…..a month spent on a lot of parties and shopping…..and I was also doing a bit of serious thinking…..like starting a small business of my own. I’ve been wanting this since my childhood. And now that I’m helping dad with our business….. I’m learning a lot, getting ideas….and thinking of starting something of my own.

Last year has been a bit career oriented…..even got some ‘job offers’ 😉
One from my own college.

Turns out our Head of the dept. along with our Economics professor and other eminent personalities of this field around the country are working on a Stock Market Risk Optimization Project.
They have been successful with 2 algos and want us to help out with the 3rd.

Sometimes many disastrous accidents are caused intentionally. Even the terror attacks. And they come out as quite profitable as they affect the stock market by millions of dollars.
And sometimes people just intentionally crash markets.
Many universities around the world are working on this to come up with an algo to save investors from market unpredictability.

3 of our seniors were already working on it. And recently a friend of mine and I got approached to help out with the programming part.
They said something about paying us from next few months, even though not very high.
They also told me to write down the thesis paper for them.

But.
There’s always a big fat BUT!!

Its a very big project. Requires a lot of studies. A lot of dedication. And a lot of TIME. Lot of important people and big funds involved.
If we take it up, every moment of our day is gonna be spent on it.
And that is not possible.

We won’t get time to study properly for our semester.
Might even have to miss tests to attend conferences.
Might mess up the whole college degree. And this additional pressure of preparing for job interviews.
And we don’t know if we are gonna be successful in finding the most efficient algorithm. Even if we do, no idea how many years its gonna take.

Can’t stop doing other things, betting all on this project.
The seniors who are working on it….they are very bright students even cracked good jobs this year…..but their semester have heavily suffered due to this.

My friend and I opted out of it.
Maybe later someday, with a stable plan.
But I’m very very happy they thought us capable of the project!! 😀 😀

The other job offer I got was from one of my friends.
Remember I had told you about our family doc’s son who got expelled from Yale for his ‘over the roof’ activities.
Well he has his own company where he guides students on applying to foreign universities, how to face interviews and come up with quality application essays.

He was a pretty bright student with perfect grades in school, dunno know why he suddenly went overboard in college!! Besides even if he didn’t complete Yale but he did crack Yale and that’s all that matters for his business 😉

So he had asked me to join his center and help out with the essays.
I myself never applied for foreign universities or for that matter even outside my own city…..coz my parents wanted me to stay here but moreover
we got some very good universities, few of them just a few minutes drive from my home and a lot of people from other places come here to study here.

Essays play a pivotal role in getting accepted to major universities like Yale. So I was kinda apprehensive before taking it up….whether we can produce such quality essays.

I used to freelance for a foreign company, write articles for their website. But they started sending in too many articles and the deadlines weren’t long enough……was getting in the way of my studies, so I discontinued.

But this experience kind of helped to make the subject matters more matured and universal.
I looked up into the formats a bit and after that it was just fun!! But after a while too many essays started coming in and again I had my assignments and exams, not to mention job interview preps…..so we decided that I’ll let him know the times I’m free to do an essay. But I throughly enjoyed and learnt a lot from this job!!

So after that I decided that its time I try starting a business of my own…..nothing major….but still a start. My dream and the real calling.

I love writing. I love reading. Its the best leisure and relaxation. Even though probably professionally I’ll will be a software engineer and carry on with my dreams of experimenting with the business but this blog has given me something beyond anything. Sharing my soul with all of you. So many friends and visions to farthest corners of the world. And I hope to be part of this beautiful blogville for the longest time!!

Aaaaand a lot of parties!!

A farewell party for our school senior who’s moving to Germany.

And surprisingly before new year I met with some friends whom I never thought will get to meet again.
And then there was a picnic with friends with boating, a private disco and outdoor games. Then a couple of get together with friends. And finally we had our departmental party. At my house!! 35 of my friends, awesome food, loud music and craziest fun!!  The best thing about parties is definitely the food but its also about the fashion!! Winter fashion…..always a chic favorite. I even took a lot of pictures throughout the month 😉

 And there’s another great news!! One of our blogging friends, Christopher Milner published his first novel, The Giant Rat of Sumatra

Its a fan fic of Sherlock Holmes with the combo of vampire!! Now it just can’t get any better than this!! Two of the most fav genres of the world. What I really loved is the summary of the book. Its instantly gripping and urges you to really know what’s happening inside the book!! And reading his blog posts, a great deal of humor and thriller can be very well expected from his novel as well 😉 It released only few days back so I still didn’t get to read it. And if you guys end up reading it before me please let me and Chris know how you love it!! And guys give your best to our dearest Chris!!

So my dear friends that was how I spent my days….lots of wonderful things to see and learn. Spread love and keep this bonding among ourselves stronger than ever 🙂

So all of you are asking me to post a pic of the pendant 😉 So I thought of updating my post here coz I don’t know when I’m gonna make my next post again. Yes I did collect it on Monday. We generally do our jewelry shopping from another brand as when it comes to quality of gold and diamonds you can’t go on experimenting.

But this was the first time we visited one of their showrooms. They also got some other showrooms around the city. This one is 4 storeyed tall with really chic collection, specially of diamonds and quality is also one of the finest. Yes their marketing strategy worked 😉 We have become their client in the long run :p They also gave us a gift voucher for further purchases and some alluring Valentine’s day offers. My cousin brother getting married soon, so we are also looking forward to do the shopping from there as well 😉 And then my mom got her heart set on a necklace set which she selected for MY WEDDING!!

‘What’s the hurry mom?? We need to select a guy before selecting jewelry to get married!!’

So in the pic that’s me with one of their Directors. A very nice and beautiful lady. And everyone there were very warm and courteous so definitely it was a Monday that was pretty desirable 😉

See you guys soon!! Btw we are having a mass bunk at college now. Seminars today and tomorrow. The IT companies send their people and they go on ‘blah blah blah blah’. But no free food packets this time so no one’s interested in attending :p Then friday 2 useless theory classes and finally the cherished weekends 😉 5 days to sit at home and…..study….umm well still better than attending CDP’s class…..this proff. of ours who can make insomniac people fall asleep!!
