  2. Speaking of giants, I always wonder what kind of people the Bible (KJV) meant when it said, “There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, etc.” (Genesis 6:4)
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you.

    1. We also have concepts of children of god and humans or human and demons who were very huge in structure and strength. They were probably much taller than average men.
But the giants I’m talking about are around 40ft tall….as tall as the dinosaur bones excavated during those times and were exhibited for common people to see.
Ofcourse we can’t say anything for sure….. everything is only a possibility☺

      1. Thank you for the kind reply. I’ve also seen the bones of a dinosaur excavated in our small island country but never heard of a legend of such a giant. Maybe it takes a great person to think of such a giant.

  3. That was an interesting idea, Mithai πŸ™‚ I always wonder, what happened to the people who lived during the dinosaur times? What stories did they share? They probably had no written history, but some stories might survive for their posterity.
Great idea, anyway πŸ™‚ Have a happy New Year! xx

    1. According to the fossils found dinos and humans didn’t coexist. Dinos became extinct 65 million years ago and the first humans came 6 million years ago. Still there can be other turns to this theory as well πŸ™‚
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and wishing you a very Happy new year!! πŸ™‚

  4. And a very intuitive imagination it is. Your musings, and observable research, on this topic have a material ring of truth to them. I can see where these stories of the ‘giants of old’ could have been inspired by the findings of huge dinosaur bones. The use of these by the shaman-priests as a spiritual tool to control the mind is also a logical next step.

I recently read the book Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari. It describes the creation of “fiction” and myths as a stepping stone to humankind’s ability to progress beyond small tribes into civilized cities and states. An interesting read. Your ideas here remind me of some of the conclusions he arrives at in the book.

    1. I’m very sorry for the late reply, I’ve been back to the blog after a long time and somehow skipped through the comments.
Thank you so much for going through my article and leaving your kind thoughts!! The ancient past is a very interesting place and the ways of life give rise to exciting predictions and research☺☺
That’s a very interesting new angle that fiction and myth moves humankind beyond tribes to civilization, I would love to read that book too and know more about it, thank you for sharing your views with me☺☺
Wishing you a wonderful day ahead☺☺

      1. Thanks Mithai for stopping by my site. It’s always a pleasure to see you.

For a book about myths read The Power of Myth by Joseph Campbell and Bill Moyers. I do believe that fiction and myth have caused great strides in human evolution, ever since humans started burying the dead in ceremony and ritual.

  5. When king Kakudmi and Revati returned to earth from Brahma loka, they were giants compared to people of Dwapara yuga. The size changed after each yuga. πŸ™‚

    Gros bisous

  12. They have found large humanoid skulls in Peru which would have belonged to exceptionally tall people.

Then there were giants mentioned in the Bible like Goliath of Gath, Og of Bashan and the really tall inhabitants of the land of Canaan that Joshua’s spies observed.

    1. I saw those images and read somewhere that its photoshopped. Ofcourse we can’t saw anything for sure…..so many things can be possible and chances are huge!☺☺
By giants I meant around 40ft tall, as the dinosaurs.
David and Goliath is one of my favorite stories☺☺

  14. Wow, I never knew. Thanks so much for sharing–I hadn’t ever heard of GW (or anyone, really) actually believing in giants. I always assumed they were just folklore and people all knew it was fictional legend. I love learning new things. πŸ™‚

  15. Thank you. According from the American Museum of Natural History, modern scientists have found mammoths, mastodons, and woolly rhinoceroses that once lived in Greece. They’ve also found elephant fossils in ancient Tangier, Morocco. But as far as carbon 14 is concerned, they can’t date anything farther back than 90,000 years ago. So all that talk about millions of years ago can’t be right. You can’t get a bird from a dinosaur. They’re much different. The bible is also another source of information. It mentions about a dinosaur, a fire-breathing dragon, and giants. We were taught that those are myths, but even today giant squids and oarfish (sea serpent) still live. They said the coelacanth was dead. Well, they’ve found many living off of South Africa. Take care.

    1. Yes absolutely. Religious texts are a source of history and information.
By giants I meant creatures the size of dinosaurs. 16-18 feet tall.
      Thank you for reading!☺
