Hola my dear friends!! How is time treating you??
Its been soooo long since I last posted…..A lottttt of things have happened since then!!
I did something very very CRAZY.
I have finally finished college and am officially an Engineer!!
And had two pretty decent job offers waiting for me.
I didn’t take up either of the jobs.
I am going ahead with my own business which I had started while in 3rd year at college.
You know, they make all those feel good movies about self discovery and following your dreams……..well they always were very uninspirational and crap talk to me.
But damnit I did it!
I hadn’t planned this. It was a sudden decision.
And last couple of months was all about that.
The Multinational Company where I got my first job, was also the first company to send the joining.
I had already made up my mind by then that I don’t want it.
The joining from the second company came sometimes later. It was a tougher decision, as the pay was higher and also it was my last opportunity to work as a Software Engineer. But I went ahead with my decision anyways.
My friends are very surprised. My teachers are surprised. I am myself surprised.
Not many people knew that when I was BUNKING CLASSES, I was actually working on my own venture ππ
Some of my friends are a bit disappointed because we had planned to live together after joining job.
But I’m sure they’re gonna find a more fun roommate………I’m the one who would have imposed a curfew time on everyoneππ
But above all I’m just glad I don’t have to wake up early in the morning and reach office by 9ππ
Early mornings…….I just caaaan’t!!
When you have your own business, the timings are much more flexible. You can work till late and wake up late, who is going to say anything I am my own Boss!!ππ
My parents gets pissed though if I wake up too lateππ So even bosses are answerable to their bossesππ
And there was also the phenomena of Khooni Monday or the Murderous Mondays……… Mondays felt like vacationing in paradise and suddenly getting hit by Tsunami.
But now my friends I LOVE MONDAYS.
Coz I get very bored on the weekends. All offices are closed. Everyone’s off work. Everything suddenly comes to a halt. I have to wait for Mondays for again something interesting to happen.
Routine is fun when you make it yourself. I literally get system crash if I’ve to work under preset routines.
I worked very hard in school. Harder in college. Hardest to crack the job interviews.
In return for all my hard work, I want to do what I want. Set my own goals and walk my own path.
I met alot of amazing clients in the last few months. Talking to them, I realised I didn’t know anything about my own country till now.
The world is so diverse. We only know a little about the society and culture we live in.
I also saw how some people are ridiculously overpaid. And how some people are so underpaid.
Its an unfair system. But that’s how the world works. But everyone can turn it around. All you need is the will.
I grew up hearing that India is a youth power country.
And now everyday I get to see it. Young people with so high dreams.
Sometimes I am thinking about my next step…….. what to do next…….and then I look at my clients. A lot of them are in their early 20’s and late 20’s. They too are working so hard. Taking risks and small steps at a time.
Its empowering to witness it.
So this my friends is what’s going on. Just trying to leave a mark and make a difference!
Sometimes I miss college. The care free days and mindless jokes. Creating hilarious memories together. Achieving dreams together.
College would have been a lot tougher without some amazing friends I had.
I took this this picture with my Rupanzel friend. She has AMAZING hair.
We took this pic right after our last exam, in the exam hall.
And this was taken on the Farewell Day. Last time I wore a sari was on our Freshers Day.
Last 4 years was very fast. Like a really fast rollercoaster journey.
All the academic education happens at school. In college you learn about life and maturity ……………..and that makes all the difference.
So what’s the craziest thing you have ever done that made all the difference??πΌπΌππ
Wishing you all a fun week ahead. Trust me the trick is to have a very boring weekend!

The craziest thing I ever did was pack up and leave my home city of Edmonton to move to Vancouver in hopes of attending the Vancouver Film School (one of the top 3 film schools in North America) to take their programs in Film Directing and Screenplay Writing.
That didnβt really pan out.
I arrived back in my home province of Alberta (although this time I moved to Calgary in the southern part of the province rather than Edmonton in the north) broke.
I really donβt know if that was a wise decision.
On the other hand, it was certainly an interesting learning experience.
And somehow I do think it might have made me a better writer.

Thank you so much. Your father was probably right. A lot of cultures have arranged marriages, but times have changed. We need to move ahead, not backwards in life. Even if some arranged marriages do work. So, go on and live. Happy New Year!

Yes we’re not thinking about marriage now. Right now just concentrating on my work.
Infact most people in India don’t have arranged marriages anymore.
Because with more and more girls are getting into jobs and other activities, their interaction horizon has increased.
And they end up finding someone from there.
Back in the days arranged marriages used to work as it was done very practically.
A guy with good eduction and job was looked at as an eligible guy.
And if a girl was educated and beautiful, she was eligible too.
But concepts of eligibility have completely changed now.
Its not so easy to be eligible now actually. Girls take much longer to get married. Average age is around 26-28 in India. At least in the city background.
