Suit up and scare people!!

Heyy do you guys still remember me??
How have you been??
I missed you guys so much!!

Its been quite a frenzy all this time.
And a lotttt of things have happened in the past few weeks!!

Like epiphanies and life changing decisions.

There are 3 things that I’m tying to juggle right now!!

a) Officially joining the business!!

b) Preparing for job interviews

c) Get good grades in the semester exams!!!!!!

And still stay sane!!

Exams got over sometimes back.
New exams coming up few days later.
Then project submission.
Then assignment submission.
Then practical exams.
Then semester exams, starting from next month.
Then winter training and project completion.
Aaaand the whole thing again on loop.

Everyone is doing this. Every freaking kid ever born in this freaking world is doing all these freaking things.

And every freaking kid who is still half ovum and half sperm is destined to do this!! 😉  :p

Okay okay take a deep breath, smile and say
Ommmm!!

Yesterday I was having a philosophical conversation with a friend.
Those free whatsapp calls 😉

People are born.
Then their parents try to send them to the best school.
Then kids work hard for 14 years and try to get into a good college.
Then they work even harder to have a good career.
Then they get married.
Go on honeymoon and hope their husbands don’t start checking out other women.
Then they have kids.
Then its time to help your kids with homework.
Division, multiplication, gravitation, coordinate geometry, organic chemistry (I FEEL LIKE CRYING ALREADY)
By the way, hats off to everyone who has 2 or more kids……its like repeat telecast every few years,

A for??
APPLE!!
B for??
BAT!!
C for??
SEA!!
No its CAT!!
I for??
EYE!!

Then you pray that your kid doesn’t run away from home.
Then kids get busy with their lives.
Then you get old.
Then you DIE!!
The end!!
Game over!! :p :p

Why are people born in the first place??
But but but!!!!!!
Maybe its not as boring as it sounds 😉
Coz then there would be no happy person left on the planet.

I guess life is like ‘Pirates of the Carrabian‘!!
You’ve no idea what the hell is going on but its still pretty fun 😉
School, college, friends……its amazing!!!!
And there’s this belief that the person you get married to, you are stuck with him for the next 7 lives!!!!!

So in a way, you are born for love.
And its pretty cool always hanging out with a hot guy 😉
So even if its a WWE match, marriage can be fun.

And kids, they are cute to look at cuter to cuddle!!
They are like teddy bears made out of your DNA.

Btw, anyone else’s parents ‘curse’ them by saying,
‘May you have kids who are 10 times as crazy as you are!!’

Creating big moments from small events!!
Celebrating life!!

And then you go to heaven.
But what if you go to hell??

Well in that case, if your husband loves you enough, he’ll join you in hell so that both of you can have a piece of heaven in hell 😉 😉

Coming back to the real point!!!!!!!!!

BUSINESS

I was always supposed to join the business.Ever since I was 13 I’ve been jumping all around to help with the business in someway.

‘What can I do??
How can I help??
Should I do that??‘

And I would be told,
‘Only way you can help now is go and study!!’

But I’ve tried to learn and adopt……lets see how much that helps 😉

Most of the time it was about adjusting with the international time.
So there weren’t many proper day and nights at home.

Late night conferences, that sometimes led to late mornings…….or just very early mornings……sleep, holidays, workdays……. none if it are planned.

There are Sundays which are worse than Mondays.
And sometimes Mondays are more fun than Fridays!!

And that’s the most important thing!!
Not much rules. Always an excitement.

There have been times when a long holiday was planned.
But a call came and we had to fly back within 2 days.

But its still fun!!
Because of the whole range of people you get to meet.
Breathing in globalization!!

Its been sometime since I haven’t gone on any farway trip.
Last time we were supposed to go on a Egypt trip. But my grandmom got severely sick soon after. Trip was cancelled. And its also not completely possible to leave her with the attendants. Mom has to always monitor.
So yes I miss trips. Specially that Egypt trip, as you guys probably know by now how much I love Egypt.
But I hope grandma gets better…..

It was a tradition throughout generations in our family that the boys joined the business and the girls got married to business men.

But  things have changed now.
There’s no difference between girls and boys.
The girls are supposed to complete their education.
And then take over the reign.

So yeah…..still in college, but I’ve started helping out with the deals and doing the follow-ups.

But that’s not all.
I’ve to crack the job interviews as well.
Studying for 4 years to be a software engineer but not doing any work in that field, doesn’t make any sense!!
So,

The Job interview

It’s definitely always on everyone’s mind but recently I got to see one.
Sometimes back it was placements week at college.

4th years were appearing for job interview.
And 3rd year Class Representatives of each department had to coordinate the whole process.

The Placement Cell Officer (PCO) of college gave me and another friend of mine the responsibility to coordinate with the Human Resource team of the visiting company.

Overjoyed, elated, jumping like a kangaroo……give me more words people!!
One of the biggest MNC of the country was visiting!!
And to be working with their HR team…..people would kill for such opportunity.

And not only that!!
We were inside the interview rooms.
Near the interview panels.
Hearing the interview questions!!!!!!

Priceless.

Alright a tip to all the budding Engineers here, guys get your Data Structures strong!!

Anyways for such formal occasions like this, you need formal clothes.
Shoppingggg!!
Formal shirts, grey trousers and head tightly tied back in a pony.

So the first day was Aptitude Round.
It was a comparatively less hectic day as we got some student volunteers to help us out.
Those who qualified, went next day for interview.

The HR team arrived early.
It was like one of those movie scenes where they glorify corporate world.
Men striding down the hall in suits wearing nice perfume, talking in perfect accent.
Their shoes clicking against the marble floor, with such maturity and confidence!!

Very suave and very glamorous.

We shook hands with them and walked along.
‘One year. Only one more year!! Then we are gonna be working with them. Finally Engineering paid off. Hottttt!!’, my friend was squealing.

We reached the interview area. It was a huge place separated by glass panels. But all the other CRs had left their designated rooms and gathered at our room.
Coz the HR team was very good looking.
And one of them was also nick named as GG as in ‘Greek God’!! :p :p

The professors came over and sent everyone them back to their rooms 😉

Soon the Senior Engineers arrived. And the interview started.
My friend and I were trying to hear what questions they were asking.

The HR team was managing and updating the process.
Then GG called me to help out with some forms. I could immediately sense all my friends looking through the glass.And then whispering among themselves.

But he was very nice and gentlemanly.
We were also talking about Cricket while arranging the forms.
And later my friends interrogated me,

‘Hmmmm what exactly were two of you talking about huh??’

‘Just general stuffs……cricket and stuffs….’

‘Oh really?? What ‘stuffs’??’

‘Normal stuffs……like the job prospects for freshers, then being part of team projects!!’

‘Is he single?’

‘How’ll I know??’

‘Is he married?????’

‘I didn’t ask!!’

‘Was he wearing a ring??’

‘I didn’t notice!!’

‘How can you you talk to a guy and not see if he’s wearing a ring??’

‘What?? Maybe coz I’m not planning to date him. Besides we are not even gonna see him after today!!’

‘What is his title?’

‘I dunno!!’

‘Such a waste of opportunity!! Absolute waste!! You were sitting beside him and this much info you can’t collect!!’

My friends were shaking their heads as if I had failed on some mission.

‘Get to know his title ok! There are million of people by his name on Fb. So we need his title!!’

I just find it a bit weird.
There are many good looking guys in the world.
That doesn’t mean you have to be attracted to all of them.
And its a professional environment. So everything should be handled professionally and reservedly.

Someone had managed to click a PIC of him and circulate it on whatsapp.
Within minutes I started receiving calls from friends asking,
‘Is it true the placement administer is a sizzler??‘

And not only GG, I was talking to all the HR guys as it was my assigned duty.
All of them were very courteous and chivalrous.

But one girl lets call her Miss J (J as in jealous), wasn’t too happy about it.
My friend had gone for lunch. And Miss J quickly came over and occupied her place.

And when GG called me for more forms, I got up but Miss J got so excited that she too got up and pushed me down by her shoulders.
I lost balance, fell on the rolling chair, the chair too lost balance and got tumbled on floor but I somehow held the desk and managed to not fall down.
But my phone slipped from my hand and flied in the air while all the papers got scattered on the ground.

The only thing in my mind was
‘My phoooooooneeeee’

HR team came running. They thought I had actually fallen down. The senior engineers looked up. The interviewees got even more puzzled.

GG went and picked up my phone.
And the other guys were asking if I was ok.
Miss J was just giving cold looks.

It was very embarrassing. Not coz I almost fell down. But because when a girl behaves like a despo around guys, it brings down the entire female race.

So the next time I got busy with my phone so that GG doesn’t call me. And let Miss J go instead.

Have him. Keep him for all I care. But just don’t behave so unprofessionally!!

But after that GG himself came over and asked if I was hurt and if my phone was still alive. Then asked me to help out with the forms.

Seeing this Miss J was dying from inside.
And that is how my phone got avenged!! :p :p

There are a lot of good people to work with. Who look at work as a place of learning and inspiration.
And who try to contribute to their best and make friends in the process.
It always doesn’t have to be about a boy and a girl. It can be also about good people being just friends.
But due to some boys and girls who can’t keep hormones at bay, work place gets scandals.
And that is so silly and immatured .

Anyways this whole process of job interview was an incredible experience of life.
A reality check!!
That there’s a huge world out there. And we are gonna be part of it. So grow up!! Get responsible. And study hard!!
Interviews are not easy. But they are definitely an experience.

And we are gonna be facing some soon. So that’s my recent worry.
Preparing for interviews. Going through the basics. Its……hectic to balance out everything!!

1st day we had to stay back at college till 11pm.
And the 2nd day till almost 1am.

The PCO had given me the responsibility to look over the lunch of the guests.
And that was also a great experience. Coordinating the lunch of around 40 officials, was a big responsibility and very exciting.
It was a wonderful 2 days!!

Anyways I still don’t know GG’s title.
Some of my friends are still pissed at that!! Lol 😉
But before leaving GG had said that the same team is again gonna come next year for our interview.
So my friends are patiently waiting for next year 😉

Besides we are gonna be working with many guys after this. Doesn’t mean you have to get stuck on all of them.
Can’t there be just an innocent exchange of thoughts??

And what I feel is, to get success in your work you need to have a clear mind.
A cordial relation is very much needed with your colleagues and clients.
You can’t get too much attached or make things complicated.

And ‘attraction’ is very basic human instinct.
But rationality is when you decide when and when not to act on such attraction.

If people learn to control their instincts work place harassments, road assaults…..and all these would cut down.
So its important to think with a straight mind specially at work, so that hormones don’t guide you, but success does.

Well, I don’t plan to continue with job for long. Its only for the first few years. The efficiency and industry knowledge which you get from here is very important.
Then I hope to fully divert my attention to the business.
Its my true calling.
Being a software Engineer……its something that just happened on the way…..

This is such a wonderful occasion isn’t it!!
We don’t have it as big as Christmas here, but its still pretty awesome!!

I might not be dressing up for Halloween, but my dear friends, I have something that’ll scare the shit out of any dam person!!!!!!!

Its a gadget.
Technically a security camera.
BUT!!
Its does the craziest shit.
Like enough to make you believe in ghosts.

Our previous camera had malfunctioned. So we bought a new one.
But its a door way to future.

It might look innocent but its one Cray devil!!

But before I brag about my new partner in crime, lemme explain how it manages to do such awesome things.

Its an IP camera with PIR sensor.
That means it can access your wifi and lan connection and has motion detector.
You can set up a perimeter and feed it to the camera.
If anything passes through that area, a crazy siren goes on.

It has cloud computing.
That means even if the camera gets stolen, your footage is still safe in your email account.

It can refer to any RF sensors.
If anyone breaks the door, if there’s a fire, or gas leak or even invisible laser beams like in those action movies, the camera alarm goes on and it sends you footage on your phone or laptop from any corner of the world.
You can also do live monitoring.

And now coming to my favourite feature.
It has its own app.
And a loud speaker.
So anything you say from your phone can be heard coming out of the camera and anything said on camera can be heard from phone.
Its done with the help of all the features I mentioned above.

So imagine a cold silent night.
An empty street.
But one thin guy carrying a trolley bag walking down the lane.
Probably lives as a paying guest somewhere.
Not a soul around.
Suddenly he hears a creepy laugh.
He looks around.
No one there.
He starts walking.
But seems as if someone is whispering.
He keeps on walking.
Its probably just the wind.
But this time its not a mistake.
Someone is really laughing.
Its not a human laugh. Its eerie and shrill.
He starts walking away fast. Very fast. Running. Because there’s no one to help him.
Only an unearthly laugh chasing him.

Too bad I don’t know his name, but I really feel sorry for this guy coz he had pretty much lost it last night.

He was passing below our house. I could see it in my mobile though the app.
It was 2am.
And I was waiting for this.
My victim has come!!
**Ghostly laugh activated**
I had even practiced the laugh a couple of times.

The sounds were coming out of the camera which was hanging from a side of our balcony.
He was looking around everywhere but couldn’t see anyone.
How could he??
I was inside my room making scary sounds 😛 😛

And the best thing is the camera can be at one end of the world. While you are on the other end.
You can still see who’s walking near your house and scare the shit out if them!!!!!

So this is how I plan to spend my Halloween.
